Clinicals

I haven't worked in a facility for a few years now. I had forgotten the loneliness, the desperation, the sadness. I had also forgotten the slower pace, the thank-you's,the kiss on my hand from a woman in her wheelchair with the same name as my grandma. The old man with his violin and a long song list. He asked me to pick a song any song.I picked You are my sunshine. Then he played it with his one eye bandaged up and his skinny, shaking arms. He was so happy I was standing there listening.I was happy I had wandered into his room.
The rewards are so wonderful they more than make up for the nasty tasks that come along with taking care of daily needs of the elderly.
Thanks to the bad weather of yesterday last night I am now 2 days behind in class. I am not worried. I am getting there. It also gave me a few more days to study for my test.
I am looking forward to Eli coming on valentines day to spend the night with me.
Thank you for all my blessings Lord.

It has been a busy week and a half. Started my Cna class in terre haute last monday. I will be done in 7 more days. Then I will have to pass my state testing.
Wow I had really gotten lazy. My legs are hurting so much so I know I am not used to the standing, crouching, walking fast that waiting on the residents requires. But I am thankful for my 2 legs when I think of the female resident who is missing a leg and just had knee surgery on her remaining leg. I have no right to complain. I am so blessed.
Working with the elderly can be so rewarding! They are for the most part very enjoyable to be around. But, they are very unsure of us knowing we are only students.
ok back to studying!!!
Oh yeah, the moon picture! I had to take it the other night, it had this awesome rainbow looking ring around it too but that doesn't show up in my picture. They called it a wolf moon on the news.
