Winter is getting on my nerves

I worked at the funeral home today. All funerals are sad but today the woman was the age of my oldest sister. We just can't forget to live life to the fullest and don't hold any grudges. Life is too short.
It rained all day. My back yard now has puddles that won't soak in. The geese have invaded Cayuga. They just fly in their V formations but circle above town all day long. There are hundreds of them. They hang out at our neighbors pond all night honking. Phoenix doesn't really want to go outside at night he hears them and just really hurries to get back inside.
Eli is getting around very well. He has mastered crawling. He can get where he wants to go really fast now! He pulls up carefully sits down looks around and goes to explore something else. I am sure walking is just around the corner. He loves when I read to him now. He gives kisses now instead of head butting thank goodness! I was worried he would knock out my front teeth a few times!
He is getting more hair that is reddish more than blonde.
This Mickey mouse toy was handed down from his cousin Ava. He loves it and it plays the mickey mouse grand march song!

Elias is 10 months old today!

I never dreamed how happy being a grandma would make me.

This is a picture of Miranda and Eli on Christmas. He is playing with his Scout doggy we got him. You program the stuffed dog to play songs including Eli's name, also with his favorite food, pet, color etc. It will even say Good night Eli and I love you Eli.

I can't believe in 2 short months he will already be turning 1.

New Year, New Beginnings

Well we have made it through the first week of 2010! I can remember when we were all worried and wondering what the year 2000 would bring. Y2K! rushing to the store to stock up on stuff just in case. All the bottled water was sold out. Of course nothing happened and here we are 10 years later. All I know is that those 10 years went fast.

I am going to try posting a new picture each week of 2010. This weeks picture is just a cold snowy Indiana corn field in January!
I am sure I will post plenty of Eli since I have more than 150 of him already. He has brought me so much joy. I love rocking him to sleep then hold him just a few more minutes so I can feel his fuzzy baby hair on my cheek and smell his baby freshness!

We got about 7 inches of snow in the last few days. I know because I measured it. It was a fluffy light snow the kind you just have to push out of the way. Phoenix liked it. He chased the shovel as I shoveled the driveway and side walk.

I am starting my cna class in february now. I got bumped from the january class to february. But its okay maybe the weather will be better in february! I am pretty excited and can't wait to be back to work full time again! I am really looking forward to a fresh new start.
